THE CHURCH IN THE HOME

OLUBI JOHNSON

1Corinthians 11:3 KJV
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

God’s vision and purpose for the family is for the husband and wife to help each other eat of the tree of life; use the wisdom, love and power obtained from the life of God to produce godly seed, or children.

The children will in turn do the same: producing seed after their kind and ultimately fill the earth with godly seed, causing God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Lk. 11.2).

How then do husband and wife help one other to eat of the tree of life?

1) By helping one another to have time for the Word of God and prayer (Jn. 6:63).

Proverbs 3:13,18 NKJV Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her.

2) Praying with and for one another, and their children to guard and protect the Garden of their home from satanic entry and attack, like Adam and Eve should have done in the garden of Eden.

Genesis 2:15 AMP
And the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.

We eat of the tree of life by daily prayer, Bible reading, confession, meditation and practice for ourselves, spouses and children.

Diligent practice of these things will help us to guard and protect the garden of our homes, produce godly seed that will enforce the Kingdom of God on the earth, and cause His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven!

It is instructive to note that you need the life of God and prayer in the Spirit on a regular basis (daily (Lk. 9.23); weekly (Isa. 58.13)) to:

i) Enlighten your understanding (Eph. 4.18; Rom. 8.26-28) to choose the right spouse.

ii) Cause Christ to be formed in you (Gal. 4.19), your spouse and children.

In this regard, the husband is like the high priest of the Old Testament who bears the names of his wife, children, staff (key domestic and business staff) or, if in ministry, his pastors, deacons and saints, on his heart daily as he prays for them (Exo. 28:9-12).

Leviticus 16:17 KJV
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.

This is how you can fulfill God’s vision for your home and family
