AARON’S ROD

OLUBI JOHNSON

Ps.83:18 KJV
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.

Right now the world has only one question for the Church, Where is thy God?. This is partly because we seem powerless in the face of present global problems, and partly because the integrity of our leadership is in question. God is about to settle the controversy.

Exodus 4:1-5; 14-17 KJV
… (2) And the LORD said unto him, what is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod… (17) And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

Here we see God using Moses’ rod to do miraculous signs.
The rod symbolizes the spoken Word in the New Testament that is used to do signs and wonders (Matt. 8:16; Psa. 107:20).

Now when there was a rebellion in the camp and a controversy as to who had divine approval and authority to lead Israel, God showed His approval using Aaron’s rod (Num. 17:1-11).

We see that Aaron’s rod brought forth supernaturally overnight: buds, blossoms and almonds.

In the same way, in this third day, God suddenly (Act. 2:1-2; Mal. 3:1), overnight (Job. 34:20-30) will place His seal of divine approval and authority on a leadership whose ‘Aaron’s rod’ symbolizing their spoken Word, will bring forth buds, blossoms and almonds.

What do these things symbolize?

i. Buds: discerning by wisdom how to walk in love (do what God would do) in every situation.

ii. Blossoms: to desire by compassion to walk in love in every situation.

iii. Almonds: having the power of the Spirit without measure, to do miracles consistently and get riches without measure (2 Cor. 9:8; Dt. 28:1-14), in order to do what God would do in every situation.

The spoken Word, by prophetic and apostolic preaching and teaching that perfects (1 Jn. 2:5) the love of God in us by wisdom, compassion and power, is the ‘Aaron’s rod’ of today.

So God will now make a distinction and show His sign of approval and authority and establish His integrity by changing the leadership in the church from ‘Eli’ to ‘Samuel’, and from ‘Saul’ to ‘David’, by causing their ‘Aaron’s rod’ to bring forth buds, blossoms and almonds, releasing upon and through them the Spirit without measure suddenly overnight! (Mal. 3:15-4.2; Act. 2:22)
