BAPTISM OF FIRE AND GLORY – FIRE RESTORES THE GLORY ADAM LOST

OLUBI JOHNSON

John 3:34 NASBS
For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.

The spirit without measure is the fire!
The Lord reveals that He will be to the Church (“be unto her…”) “a wall of fire round about“, and “the glory in the midst of her” (Zech. 2:5).

This is the baptism of fire! A simultaneous immersing intonation and infilling of the fire of the glory of God!

In the Old Testament, whenever there was a manifestation of the glory of God, it would be with fire like Moses experienced when he went to the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments and was in the Presence of God for forty days.

The baptism of fire is having the glory of God within and around you. However, it does not mean that others will see fire on you all the time! For example in Cana of Galilee, there was apparently no fire; but the fire was present (John 2:11). However, on the mountain of transfiguration the fire that was always there was revealed.

We got the first ‘suddenly’ on the day of Pentecost; the second ‘suddenly’ is now imminent! The first outpouring started the ‘last days’, the former rain quoted by Peter in Acts 2; but we are about to experience a second outpouring ending the last days, which will enable us to do the miracles the Lord Jesus did and greater!

This fire will not always be physically manifest like in the day of Pentecost. Occasionally, God may show the fire, but we don’t go looking for it! The fire’s work is to burn out whatever is left of the sin nature in the soul and in the body as a refining fire. It will set our hearts on fire and keep our hearts on fire so we will not grow cold again!

The Lord is going to return the fire of the glory of God that was lost to man in the Garden of Eden (Rom 3:23).
Through Jesus Christ, the last Adam, the glory we lost in the Garden of Eden through the first Adam will be restored.

Thank God for the Lord Jesus; He has come to restore that fire to His Church! That is why when you come into Christ, you are called to obtain the glory. As the world sees us, they will behold our glory as the glory of the begotten sons of God! The same miracles the Lord Jesus did, we will do and greater (John 14:12). That is how the glory will be restored to us.

It will give us the Spirit without measure that will enable us to do the miracles that the Lord Jesus did and greater, and also keep our hearts burning with fire for God on the inside, and it will even affect our physical bodies, burning away all filthiness of the flesh, as the life of God is made manifest in our mortal bodies (2Cor. 4:10-11; Isa. 4:3-5)!
