BEING READY FOR HIS COMING
2Thessalonians 1:10 LITV
…when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all those who believe in that Day, because our testimony to you was believed.
We are now in the season of the first phase of Christ’s second coming: His coming in His Church in the perfection and fullness of Christ to break, rule and disciple the nations, to close this age and usher in the millennial reign of Christ (Matt. 24:14).
How are we then to prepare for this?
We are to use our faith and patience to prepare and to be ready, like the wise virgins in the parable spoken by the Lord Jesus (Matt. 25:1-13).
In this parable, all the virgins are Christians: they all have honest hearts that believe in the Lord Jesus.
Our lamps represent our spirits (Prov. 20:27).
Our vessels represent our physical bodies (2Cor. 4:7).
The wise became wise through prayer, submission and obedience to the present day, prophetic and apostolic ministries and so have received the spirit of wisdom and revelation, and have oil in their vessels. The foolish are born-again and so have oil in their lamps but not in their vessels. Oil typifies in this context the life of God.
So to be prepared, you need to put ‘oil’ in your ‘vessel’ as a daily habit by habitual daily prayer with all kinds of prayer in the Spirit, using an abundance of the life of God to have the life of God in your physical body (Rom. 8:10-11; Gal. 4:19).
So with being prepared as a foundation, it takes regular washing of feet: at least four times daily and frequently acknowledging the Lord for mercy and praying in tongues, ideally, every conscious hour (Matt. 24:42) and during temptations (Jam. 1:2-4), to become and stay ready.
By being both prepared and ready daily, you will escape, or overcome, all the temptations and tribulations that come against you and ‘enter into the wedding with the bridegroom,’ a type of the manifestation of the glory of God.
Those who are not prepared and ready are left in the spiritual darkness of the outer court, and so do not experience the fulfilment of the feast of Tabernacles and consequently, will not manifest the glory of God. So be prepared and ready daily, for the hour of His coming in us is upon us!
Luke 21:36 KJV
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
