LOWLINESS AND WISDOM
True, godly wisdom comes through having an attitude of lowliness of mind, meekness and humility.
The reason why there is so much knowledge in the Church today but very little wisdom, is because of the attitude of pride in so many of us. Remember that “knowledge puffeth up but charity (or love) edifieth” (1Cor. 8:1).
In fact, even if you have wisdom from God, if you do not maintain an attitude of humility, that wisdom will become corrupted.
This was what happened to Satan, and now all satanic or ungodly wisdom is corrupted (Ezek. 28:17; Jas. 3:14-15).
The scripture says “Wisdom is the principal (or the most important) thing (Prov. 4:7),” but we get and maintain it by an attitude of lowliness, meekness and humility.
Humility, simply put, is submitting your will to the will of God when you don’t feel like it, especially when doing so makes you smaller than what you think and know you are.
You choose to be humble as an act of your own will, and maintain humility by daily reaffirming that you will submit to God’s will, even when you don’t feel like it, and acting on it when situations come up to test the sincerity of your decision to be humble.
So by maintaining a lowly heart, like the Lord Jesus who was meek and lowly in heart (Matt. 11:29), we will continue to receive and retain, in its purity, the wisdom of God which will make us victorious and successful, spiritually, mentally and physically to the glory of God.
James 3:13 KJV
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
