MESSENGERS OF GLORY

2 Peter 1:19-21 (KJV)
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts, Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

When we, as Christians, recognise the Word is inspired by God and not man, we will have a greater reverence for the written Word, and so have a healthier fear of God.

When we have the fear of God by reverencing His Word, we will walk in all His ways and not just the ones that are convenient for us (Deut. 10:12).

When we walk in all His ways, then we will truly love the Lord with our acts of obedience to His Word, and not just with our mouths (John 14:21; Matt. 15:7-9).

It is when we love Him truly by keeping His Word that we can truly serve Him with all of our hearts, backed by the power of the Holy Spirit through prayer (Rom. 1:9).

God the Holy Spirit is currently watching over His Word to perform it. God is not a man that He should lie: He has the wisdom, power and resources to cause every jot and tittle in the Word to be fulfilled (Jer. 1:12; Matt. 5:18).

It is certain that God’s Word will be fulfilled because God has magnified His Word above His Name: God is no respecter of persons including Himself.

2 Corinthians 8:23 KJV
Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellow helper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

Paul calls the brethren that accompanied Titus, messengers of the churches and the glory of Christ.

The Greek word messengers
is the word ‘apostolos,’ or in English, ‘apostle’. So the unnamed brethren were called apostles by the Holy Spirit through Paul.

This means that they were operating under covering, the apostolic anointing of Paul and Titus, and so were also messengers of the glory of Christ. They manifested the glory of Christ by a borrowed anointing taken from Paul’s apostolic anointing.

Today any Christian who is unnamed ( no title or recognition by men), but who by association and submission, follows after an apostolic ministry, like Elisha followed Elijah, can manifest the glory of God in this third day (Matt. 10:8).

It is instructive to note that the scope of the anointing without measure corresponds to the level of spiritual development of the person who has been given the borrowed anointing:

1. Baby—little child (1 Pet. 2:2; 1Jn. 2:13) heal the sick: instant internal healings (Lk. 4:38-39).

We see this in the 12 Apostles and 70 disciples under the ministry of Christ, Who called them babes (Lk.9:1-2,6).

2. Little child—young man (1Jn. 2:13) — cleanse the leper: instant external healings (blind seeing, lame walking, deaf hearing, etc.) (Matt. 9:27-35; Mk. 7:31-37).

After a period of growth, we see the apostles in the Acts of Apostles performing instant external healings, like the lame man in the temple (Act. 3:1-11).

3. Young man—Father (1Jn. 2:14) — raise the dead: instant raising of the dead. This is the highest form of external physical healing because the last enemy that shall be defeated is death (1 Cor. 15:26).

After more growth, we see Peter and Paul raising the dead (Act. 9:36-41; 20:9-12).

Now, the purpose of the manifestation of the glory of God is to break, rule and disciple the nations and so close this age (Psa. 102:15-16; Matt. 24:14).

So, even if you are an un-named Christian without any reputation or recognition among men, you can become a messenger of the glory of God in this third day by association with, submission to and following after apostolic ministries operating in the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ!

Isaiah 40:5 ESV
..and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
