PREVAILING IN THE HEAVENS

Revelation 12:7-9 KJV
…and there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.

Here, we are given a revelation of a spiritual battle in heaven between Michael and his angels, and Satan and his angels; with God’s angels prevailing over Satan’s and removing them from their place and influence in the heavens.

This battle will literally take place at the end of this age when the perfect, man-child Church will be caught up (Rev. 12.5) or raptured into heaven, BUT the principles are applicable today as there is constant battle going on in the heavens (Dan. 10:12-13; Eph. 6:12).

The Bible reveals in 2 Cor.12:2 that there are three sets of heavens: the third heaven being where God’s throne is, and we are also seated there in Christ Jesus; the second heaven is where Satan and his angels operate from; and the first heaven is the physical heavens above the earth.

When we pray with all kinds of prayer in the Spirit (Eph. 6:18) with groanings (Rom. 8:26), or travail (Gal. 4:19), or strong crying (Heb. 5:7), the power of God from our spirits is released from our position of authority in the third heavens (Eph. 2:6) into the second heavens where Satan and his angels operate (Eph. 2:2-3).

This authorizes and empowers our angels to overcome Satan and his angels and then releases the power of God into the air of the first heavens so that we, instead of Satan, influence the wills, minds, bodies and circumstances of men, so bringing into physical manifestation:

1. Salvation: the new birth (Jn. 3:6), healing (1 Pet. 2:24), deliverance (Mk. 16:17) and prosperity (2 Cor. 8:9).

2. Strength (Eph. 3:16).

3. The Kingdom of God: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom.14:17).

4. The power of Christ: the power of the Holy Spirit without measure (Jn. 3:34).

This is what causes a revival when in whole communities or cities, a majority of the people get born-again and righteousness prevails in the community, like in the revivals of Charles Finney and the ministry of Paul at Ephesus (Acts 19:17-20).

Revelation 12:10 KJV
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
