THE CHRISTIAN ABRAHAMIC INHERITANCE
Genesis 12:1-3 MKJV
…and Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house into a land that I will show you. And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.Galatians 3:29 NIV
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
God has blessed and is still blessing Israel, in spite of the fact that the majority of Israelites in modern Israel today, either do not believe in God at all, or, even when they do, they do not serve God like their fathers did.
Why?
Israel is loved for their fathers’ sakes in spite of their disobedience!
Romans 11:28 MKJV
Indeed as regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes. But as regards the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
In fact, God in His sovereignty blesses and protects natural Israel through the Church (spiritual Israel), by using some of our prayers in tongues given by the utterance of the Holy Spirit (Act. 2:4).
This is why in under 50 years after the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, was restored to the Church about 1900, Israel was re-gathered together as a geopolitical nation in May 1948, after being scattered for over 1800 years following the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.
The Church is the spiritual seed of Abraham, and has an inheritance that is firstly spiritual and secondly, physical, including all the physical blessings that the physical seed of Abraham (Israel) have enjoyed down through the years, from the Old Testament up until now.
Hence, our Christian, Abrahamic inheritance is two-fold:
1 . Possess the gates of our enemies.
2 . Bless all the nations of the earth by breaking, ruling and discipling them, by the power of the Holy Spirit without measure.
Spiritually, what are the ‘gates of our enemies’?
Our enemy is the devil and His gates are the five physical senses through which he controls our souls: will, mind, emotions; bodies and circumstances, making us do what we do not want to do (Eph. 2:2-3; Gal. 5:17).
Furthermore, the last enemy is physical death (1Cor. 15:26), so when we possess the gates of our enemies we, in consultation with God, will determine when, where and how we die, so fulfilling Psalm 91:13-16.
Psalms 118:17 MKJV
I shall not die, but live and declare the works of Jehovah.
Now, we possess the gates of our enemies when, by cleansing with the power of the Blood of Jesus, we use the Word and power of the Holy Spirit to dominate our souls: will, mind, emotions and bodies, to only desire and do what is pleasing to God (Heb. 13:20-21; 1Jn. 2:5, 1Jn. 4:12-13).
Practically, this possessing of the gates of our enemies is the experience of the perfection and fullness of Christ.
