THE JOSHUA, DAVID AND SOLOMON GENERATION
OLUBI JOHNSON
Mark 13:28-30 NKJV
Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near-at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.
The Lord Jesus, teaching prophetically, tells us the generation that is on the earth and sees the nation of Israel restored back to Palestine, as well as all the signs of the end, will be the generation that sees the close of this age (Mark 13:7-8).
Israel was restored to Palestine as a geo-political nation in May 1948, so we start counting the end-time or finishing generation from 1948. According to scripture, a generation is about a 100 years (Gen. 15:13,16).
So we expect to see the close of this age about 2048. Now these times are prophetic shadows (Heb. 10:1, Col.2:17). The time may be some years earlier or later than 2048 since no one knows the day or hour (Mt. 24:36).
However, we are expected to know the times and seasons (1Thess. 5:1-2). The diligence or slothfulness of the Church can hasten or delay the day and hour of the Lord Jesus’ physical return and close of this age (2 Pt. 3:12; Eph. 5:16)
Now in this end-time generation, we have three sets of people (Is.59:21; Ps.22:30-31).
1. First generation Christians who were born in Egypt (1Cor. 10:1-11): their parents were not born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit: praying with tongues (Act. 2:4).
2. Second generation Christians who were born in the wilderness (1Cor.10:5): their parents were born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit, so they grew up seeing the pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night (Ex.40:38).
3. Third generation Christians who will be born in Zion’ (Ps. 50:2): when there will be a significantly large number of Christians who will have experienced cleansing perfection and will be manifesting the glory of God (Jn. 3:34).
This finishing generation is called the Joshua, David and Solomon generation, because what they will fulfill is typified in the lives of these three people:
– Joshua who captured Jericho (Jos. 6.1-20) that typifies this perfect end-time Church becoming the most powerful financial institution on the earth (Dt. 28:10-13), and using it to break, rule and disciple the nations.
– David who captured Jerusalem and Zion (2Sam. 5:6-9): typifying the Church experiencing cleansing perfection. Then making it available and accessible to any one who gets born-again (Heb. 6:12).
– Solomon who built the temple, typifying this end-time Church being transformed from a Tabernacle to a spiritual temple of individual Christians.
They will be built on the foundation of present day apostles and prophets (Eph. 2:20-21) whose preachings, teachings, lives and examples they will follow to get the revelation and experience of cleansing perfection and manifesting the glory of God (Phil. 3:17).
These Christians will be found in every geo-political nation on the earth and every continent will become gateways for anyone on earth to see and enter God’s temple that is filled with His glory (1Chr. 22:5).
Anybody who is alive today, gets born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues (Act. 2:4; 10:44; 19:6) can be a part of this Joshua, David and Solomon finishing generation, no matter how old or young they are.
