THE CHURCH IN THE HOME

John 1:4-5 NKJV
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 8:12 NKJV
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.“

What is life and what is the ‘light’ of life?
The life of God is the spiritual substance or ‘liquid’ that flows inside God. Just like blood flows inside the physical body, life or, living water, as the scripture describes it, flows inside God (Jn. 4:10,14).

Life is what is injected into our human spirit when we get born-again, so making us children of God: partakers of the divine nature (1Jn. 5:10-12)!

Light is the knowledge, understanding, wisdom and creativity that God gives by the impartation of His life.

Daniel 5:14 NKJV
I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

It is vital that Christians know that they have access to the life of God and thus to the light of life, and can develop to such a great measure that we become signs and wonders to our generation like Daniel and Joseph (Dan. 1:17; Gen. 41:38-39).

It is a fact of history that in societies who have experienced true spiritual revival where the Word of God is released in the free preaching, speaking and practice of the Bible, wisdom, creativity and scientific advancement always follows.

Psalms 119:130 NKJV
The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

– The Lutheran Reformation (1517) in Germany: Leibniz (1646-1716) developed the calculus (1675).

– The Wesley brothers Revival (1739-1800) in England brought the Industrial Revolution (1750-1900).

About the time of the Pentecostal Revival (1901-1910), the world received more notable inventions from the radio valve to aeroplanes.

So how do we develop the light of life in us?
By habitually developing the love of God, using the life of God (1Jn. 3:22-23; Jn. 20:31), the written Word (1Jn. 2:5) and praying in tongues (Jude 1:20-21).

So by daily receiving measures of the life of God, by faith in scriptures that promise life, we ensure the abundance of our heart is full of life. Now, when we speak, confess God’s Word or pray in the Spirit, we do it from the abundance of our heart, and so sufficient power is released to help us walk in love and to enlighten our understanding with the light of life.

Christians who develop the light of life will be used by God in these last days to solve scientific, industrial, economic and social problems that the world, at present, has no answer to.

Isaiah 60:1-3 NKJV
So, Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. for behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
