Daily Rhema: UNDER THE SHADOW OF HIS WINGS

Psalms 17:8-9(KJV)
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

To be under the shadow of God’s wings means to be under the protection of spiritual covering.

Spiritual covering is the spiritual power that is coming out of the spirits of those in positions of spiritual leadership, who are waiting upon the Lord and are mounting up with wings as eagles (Isa. 40:31).

We also see David asking the Lord to hide him under the shadow of His wings from the wicked that oppress him: deadly enemies that surround him.

The enemies that compass or surround us are;
– The power of Satan in the air (Eph. 2:2).
– The carnal mind (Rom. 8:7).
– The sin nature in the flesh (Gal. 5:17).

We remain under the shadow of God’s wings by;
– Having an attitude of reverence for those in positions of spiritual authority (1Thess. 5:13).
– Obedience to their instructions from the Word, especially concerning prayer and the Word.
– Giving to them financially and materially (Gal. 6:6).

Doing these things will enable us to overcome the enemies that surround us by:
– Daily prayer in the Spirit for at least one hour to overcome the power of the devil in the air.
– Daily reading and meditation of the Word to overcome the carnal mind.
– Daily confession of the Word, particularly in the area of the fruit of the Spirit, to overcome the sin nature in the flesh.
