UNDERSTANDING EPIGNOSIS : COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE

OLUBI JOHNSON

Proverbs 15:14 KJV
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

God wants us to have complete revelation knowledge or, epignosis of Himself.
(Epignosis is the Greek word for complete knowledge).
It is a prayer we should all pray for ourselves daily (Eph. 1:17-19; Col. 1:9-12).

What then is the complete knowledge of God?
It is the complete knowledge of His character, His power and His purpose.
In principle, it is the complete knowledge of Him in these three areas. Recall that God’s number for perfection is three because there are three Persons in the Godhead (1Jn. 5:7).

Furthermore, His character is three-fold: love, justice and righteousness (Jer. 9:24); His power is three-fold: power of Godliness (2Tim. 3:5), power of protection (including healing and deliverance (Act. 10:38)) and power to get wealth (Dt. 8:18). His purpose is also three-fold: to get men born-again (Passover), filled with the Holy Spirit (Pentecost) and then to be made perfect like Jesus (Tabernacles).

God has revealed Himself in this triple three-fold manner so that we may know this revelation of Himself is true and certain (Gen. 41:32; Prov. 22:20-21).

Our knowledge of the details and application of these principles of the complete knowledge of God should continue to increase (Col. 1:9-10).

In this third day in which the Church is being brought into the perfection and fullness of Christ, total rejection of this complete knowledge of God can lead to a person’s destiny in God being limited to a ‘30-fold’, wood and earth destiny, or spiritual death, and consequently, in many cases, pre-mature physical death to save the person from going to hell (Mk. 4:20; Rev. 3:1-2; Hos. 4:5-6).

It is for this reason that it is vital NOW to get a revelation of this complete knowledge of God, firstly in principle, and then to increase in the knowledge of the details and applications of this knowledge (2Cor. 4:6).

HOW DO WE INCREASE IN COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE?
We increase in the revelation of complete knowledge by praying with tongues and travail, with an attitude of love and humility, and balanced bible reading as a daily habit.
