WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?
OLUBI JOHNSON
Psalms 144:11-12 KJV
Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace.
God is currently asking the question in the Church in this hour: Who is on the Lord’s side?
This was the same question He asked the children of Israel through Moses in Exodus 32:26-28, when they made a golden calf in the wilderness and God’s judgement came upon them.
When Moses came down from the mountain he asked the question:
“Who is on the Lord’s side?”
This sounds like a strange question since all the children of Israel were God’s people and ordinarily should have been on the Lord’s side.
However, the rebellion and idolatry in the camp caused God through Moses to ask this question, as the rebellion and idolatry had divided God’s people into, as it were, wheat and tares (Matt.13:37-41).
In the same way today, rebellion against God’s Word (1Sam. 15:22-23), spiritual authority and the idolatry of covetousness (Col. 3:5), have divided God’s people (Lk. 12:51; 1Cor. 11:18).
Thus, God is currently asking the same question in the Church in this hour: “Who is on the Lord’s side?”
Now, just as those who were on the Lord’s side gathered themselves unto Moses in the wilderness (Ex.32:26-27), those who are on the Lord’s side will in this hour gather themselves to the Lord by making covenant with Him by sacrifice.
Psa. 50:5(KJV)
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
So to be on the Lord’s side in this hour, we need to make covenant with God by sacrifice. To do this we make a decision and constantly reaffirm the same daily, to choose the fear of the Lord (Prov. 1:29) by submitting to the will of God even when we don’t feel like it (Phil. 2:8), especially in prayer. We must determine to love God with all our hearts: will, mind, emotions and strength (Mk. 12:30), and to love all men as Christ loves them (Jn. 13:34).
